2 Granny Smith apples sliced and cored

2 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoon brown sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
2/3 cup buttermilk
1 egg
To dust
1/4 cup sugar

Instructions
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, brown sugar, buttermilk, and egg. Stir until smooth.Place the remaining sugar and cinnamon on a plate; stir to combine.
Heat oil in a dutch oven or large pot to 350 degrees F (the oil shouldn’t smoke but it should bubble when you drop the apples in)
Fully coat each apple slice in the batter, then emerge into the hot oil. Cook 4-5 apple slices at a time for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.
Remove the apples from the oil and immediately roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
