Honey Lime Hibiscus Iced Tea

This Honey Lime Hibiscus Iced Tea is the kind of drink that makes staying hydrated feel fun and like you’re treating yourself. Steep, stir in honey and a squeeze of lime, pour over ice and that’s the whole recipe. Fifteen minutes start to finish, and most of that is just the tea steeping.

Hibiscus turns that pretty deep ruby red all on its own (no food coloring here), and the honey and lime enhance and balance it out so it’s tart and sweet. I’d compare this to a sour patch taste. It’s caffeine-free too, so it’s an easy pour any time of day.

Health Perks of Honey Lime Hibiscus Iced Tea

Hibiscus isn’t just a stunning color and fun tasty drink, it has some health perks too. It’s naturally rich in antioxidants and some research has also linked hibiscus tea to a mild, natural dip in blood pressure and some anti-inflammatory perks, according to Cleveland Clinic. It’s not a substitute for medication though, so if you’re on blood pressure meds or pregnant, it’s a good idea to check in with your doctor first.

Mocktail Variation

Here are a few easy ways to take this from a casual afternoon iced tea at home to a fancy feeling mocktail for a baby shower or girls night:

  • Sparkling Twist: Top off with chilled sparkling water or club soda instead of cold water for a fizzy version.
  • Ginger Zing: Muddle a slice of fresh ginger into the honey while the tea is still hot for a little spicy kick.
  • Frozen Slush: Blend the chilled tea with ice instead of pouring it over cubes for a hibiscus slushie.
  • Pretty It Up: Garnish with a lime wheel, fresh mint, or a few dried hibiscus flowers floating on top.
